Vacancy @Conservation International: Ridge to Reef GIS Coordinator (RRGC)

We are constantly growing and expanding into areas new and old. We are currently looking to fill the following position for our office in Bali:
Ridge to Reef GIS Coordinator (RRGC)
Ridge to Reef GIS Coordinator position is based in Bali and travel extensively to Karangasem and Jembrana, Bali and also Kaimana, West Papua.  The primary responsibility of this position is supporting the process for the establishment of fully functioning Karangasem MPA (sustainable tourism and fisheries) as part of Bali MPA Network through Bali Geodatabase system and web GIS. 
The Coordinator is also responsible to generate scientific support for Bali’s Ocean Health Index Plus (OHI+) assessment, oversee facilitation process of the OHI Bali Technical Team lead by Indonesia Marine Research and Observation (IMRO), and monitoring the implementation process of Mangrove bin in Perancak. Support Bali Island Manager in the design of Bali MPA Network and a long-term sustainable financing plan for the MPA, as well as support Kaimana MPA Spatial analysis.
Key Duty / Responsibility:
1.    Coordinate the development and implementation of Bali Geodatabase and sedimentation research that will show Ridge to Reef approach for the integration of Karangasem MPA management and Mount Agung Reforestation Project
2.    Facilitate necessary activities to map the potential resources of village management that will support the functioning of Karangasem and Kaimana MPA including socialize fisheries and tourism activities as non-extractive economic benefits to support MPA management and zoning system.
3.    Provide technical assistance and facilitate the development of local capacity to manage Mangrove Bin in Perancak Watershed (Jembrana MPA)
4.    Facilitate the process and provide technical assistance to Bali OHI technical team and stakeholders in OHI+ assessment process.
5.    Provide technical assistance and facilitate the development of Kaimana MPA spatial analysis in support Kaimana MPA management
6.    Prepare regular reports on the progress.

Qualifications:
Education:
·         Degree in Marine Biology and/or at least 3 years working experience on facilitating the process of MPA establishment, coastal and marine conservation management.
·         Excellent communication and presentation skills
·         Strong technical command of fisheries benefits of MPAs
·         Strong ability to manage group process and dynamics
·         Ability to SCUBA dive
·         Good command of English (speaking, reading and writing) including report writing..
·         Knowledge/understanding of local cultural setting
·         Passionate with field works and able to meet project deadlines often under difficult circumstances.

Preferred/Desirable:
·         Good inter-personal skills to engage with the stakeholders (grass-root communities, NGOs, Government, universities, etc)
