The Johns
Hopkins Center for Communication Programs (Johns Hopkins CCP), a not-for-profit
human development organization, combines the science and art of strategic
communication to help people around the world make better choice for
themselves, their families and their communities. Based in Baltimore,
MD, USA, Johns Hopkins University established Johns
Hopkins CCP over 25 years ago to consolidate several health
communication programs and focus attention on the central role of communication
in health behavior change. Johns Hopkins CCP is a part of Johns Hopkins
Bloomberg School of Public Health within the Department of Health, Behavior and
Society. The mission of Johns
Hopkins CCP is to use its core strengths —strategic behavior change, knowledge
management, advocacy, capacity building and research and evaluation— to achieve
these goals.
We are currently seeking a qualified candidate for Graphic Designer cum Video Editor.
PROJECT DESCRIPTION: The Johns Hopkins CCP
manages the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation-funded “Reinvigorating Family
Planning in Indonesia” program, known as MyChoice Indonesia. MyChoice (PilihanKu)
is works hand in hand with the Government of Indonesia through BKKBN. The
program has five components, namely 1) Demand generation and advocacy, 2)
Facility readiness for PPFP, 3) Supply chain management, 4) Private sector strengthening,
5) Data decentralization. One of the objective is to increase the use of mCPR
by 5 percentage points in 11 districts that the program is working.
Under Demand Generation component, PilihanKu is
optimizing the use of social media and digital media to reduce barriers to FP
information. PilihanKu social media
campaign will focus on providing accurate information online in the website and
smartphone application on variety of topics such as family planning,
contraceptives, reproductive health, and parenting. The target is creating buzz and promoting
social norm around support for family choices for contraceptives.. The social
media intervention will create need recognition for FP among women, provide
women with FP information, connect them to service delivery points and
encourage uptake. PilihanKu will tap on
the existing social media communities on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Forums,
and YouTube with partners and online influencers already using social media..
GENERAL POSITION DESCRIPTION: MyChoice Indonesia will utilize the expertise of the consultant to populate the online media SKATA
with still visual and video content, JHUCCP is looking for a graphic designer
and video editor. The task is for the person to produce visual for social media
posts based on the Monthly Editorial Guideline, editing video footage up to the
required quality for SKATA postings, and other designs required for printing). Working closely with our Graphic Designer
Officer, he/she will be responsible for the following key deliverables:
· Weekly visual for social
media posts
· Bi weekly video editing
· Other designs required,
such as for printing and slides.
The consultant will work for a duration of 12 months
period. The
person who handles the task is not required to come to office but may work
remotely. S/he will only require for a weekly check in by email/skype and
monthly meeting (offline, if possible)
MINIMUM
QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor degree or higher in relevant discipline, and have the
following technical qualifications:

Advanced graphic design skill

Have a full grasp on color concept, visual quality,
composition, and a plus if also cover understanding on web design, UI/UX
design, and photography

Able to use the following tools: Adobe Creative Suite:
Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe InDesign, Adobe Premiere, Adobe After
Effects.

A plus if also able to use on-the-go design software,
such as: Canva, Desygner, Unfold (or other Instastory app)

Able to use the following supporting software, such as
Microsoft Office, Google Suite, Adobe Acrobat, Trello (project management tool)
